A complete hitting curriculum for volunteer coaches working with players ages 8 and under. Five proven fundamentals, ready-to-use lesson plans, and zero red tape.
Every young hitter needs the same foundation. We built a step-by-step sequence that any volunteer coach can teach โ no baseball background required.
A proper grip is the foundation of every good swing. We teach kids to hold the bat with their "door-knocking" knuckles aligned โ relaxed hands, not white-knuckle tight.
Before anything can happen, kids need to be in an athletic position. Feet shoulder-width apart, knees soft, weight on the balls of their feet โ ready to move.
The stride loads power and starts timing. A short, controlled step toward the pitcher โ not a lunge. We keep it simple: "soft step, land quiet."
Contact is the moment everything pays off. Eyes on the ball, swing level through the zone, and connect out in front. We drill "see it, hit it" as the core cue.
A full follow-through means everything before it was working. High hands, hips through, and balanced at the end. "Wrap it around" is the cue kids remember.
Short 30โ90 second clips walking coaches through each technique. Upload yours to YouTube and we'll embed them here.
Every lesson plan is print-ready and coach-ready. No prep required beyond grabbing it, printing it, and showing up.
Ask fellow coaches to share their experience with this curriculum. Short quotes from real volunteers carry a lot of weight with new coaches joining the program.
All resources are free and self-serve. No sign-up required โ just pick a lesson plan and get out on the field.
